Dry pot, it was explained to me, is like hot pot but without water. I further observed that you also do not cook things by yourself, it's made for you. So... to me, it seems more like a dry 冒菜 (like a ready made hotpot) than a hot pot.
Sometimes in China, you are served things which are clearly not meat and clearly not a veggie. Luckily, it usually doesn't matter since at least in Chongqing, there's an explosion of flavor as well.
So this looks all ancient and mystical but it's actually part of a theme park.
