Something more westerner-friendly, a little beef stew with either taro or potatoes, don't remember which. Regardless, they both taste pretty much the same in this context.
These funny looking eggs are some variant of the so called "thousand-year eggs". Googling, most of them don't have yellow egg yolk but these do. Regardless, they tasted mostly like eggs, not thousand-year old at all.
I asked if that was a Buddha but apparently it's just a fat dude.
